TYPES OF BRACES

Damon™ Braces

Explore the benefits of Damon Braces

Greater Comfort

Damon braces are self-ligating, which eliminates the need for elastic or metal ties or bands. Instead, lighter, high-tech, shape-memory wires combine with a slide mechanism to move teeth faster, requiring fewer adjustments, and reducing friction and pressure. Additionally, self-ligating brackets are more hygienic as they allow teeth to be more easily brushed and flossed.

Faster Treatments

Treatment time with the Damon System is typically much faster than with conventional braces. Also, far fewer appointments are required during treatment.

More Consistent Results

Patients who received Damon braces report greater satisfaction and better results when compared to traditional braces.

Metal Braces

Metal braces are still the most commonly used type of braces and straighten teeth using a combination of stainless steel brackets, arch wires, and elastic ties or bands. They now use smaller brackets that are less noticeable and can be more effective in treating more severe cases. Metal braces are more comfortable and affordable than ever before!

Lingual Braces

Lingual braces are just like metal braces – but placed on the back of the teeth, making them virtually invisible. Your teeth must be longer to provide enough room to glue braces on the inside of the teeth, making lingual braces a more common option for adults. Additionally, they can be more challenging to get used to and maintain because of placement near the tongue, impacting swallowing and talking. They also require extra diligence in cleaning your teeth because their placement makes it harder to check if you have brushed away all food particles.

Ceramic Braces

Ceramic braces use tooth-colored or clear brackets that are made of ceramic, porcelain, or, in some cases, plastic, and blend in with teeth. Ceramic braces are the same size, shape, and effectiveness as traditional metal braces but less noticeable and often more expensive. These braces can be less durable and larger than traditional metal braces and may sometimes cause discomfort for sensitive mouths. They also may require smaller adjustments and be more appropriate for less severe orthodontic cases.
